MISSIONS

As a sent people, we take very seriously the idea that we are on a mission in the world. We are not content with just "doing church," we are committed to truly "being the church." We want our hands and feet and lives and love to be an extension of our Lord Jesus. Because of this, we are constantly dreaming and imagining how we can join up with the things God is already up to in our world. We want his kingdom to come on this earth as it is in Heaven. We are serious about loving God and our neighbor everywhere that we go.

Individually, our mission takes us to our neighbors homes, to our break rooms at work, to our children's schools and sports teams, and to all of the places regular folks find themselves.

As a group, our mission takes us across town to Arby's and Bakers Ribs, it takes us down the street to a local apartment complex, and it takes us across the world to Ghana, West Africa where we are currently working to help rescue children who are in slavery.

Backyard Missionaries

Every month we go out into the world to be Salt and Light to our friends and neighbors. You might find us doing things like helping provide school supplies, passing out pizzas in the name of Jesus, hosting picnics in local apartment complexes, or raising money to help kids who have no one to speak on their behalf.

AROUND THE WORLD

Loving Lima

Mark Clancy is a missionary in Lima, Peru. He and his mission team arrived in Peru in the summer of 2009.They are already doing important work in establishing relationships with the native Peruvians and finding new places to bring the good news of Jesus. We have been given the opportunity to partner with Mark as we try to make sure he feels loved and supported during his time in Peru. You can read his blog and learn more at: markinlima.wordpress.com.

The Mercy Project

Through the Mercy Project, we have the honor of working with the Touch A Life Foundation to help rescue children in slavery in Ghana, West Africa. There are a variety of things we are doing to raise money to help the children, and we will be taking a family mission trip to Ghana in the summer of 2010. Learn more at mercyproject.net.
