LEADERSHIP

Bob Tuerck, Elder

Bob was born and raised in Illinois. He moved to Garland in 1984 and has been here ever since. He is a software engineer with TI, loves fruit and meat, adores his wife of nearly 30 years, and wants to visit the Holy Lands and Egypt someday. His favorite book of the Bible is Daniel, and his favorite story is in 2 Kings when Elisha opens his servant's eyes.

Andy Westbrook, Elder

Andy was born in Abilene, TX and was raised both there and in Louisiana. He is a Systems Analyst for an energy company, enjoys seafood, has been married 25 blessed years, and would like to own a classic muscle car someday. Interestingly, he once did radio and billboard ads for Toyota. His favorite book is the book of James and he says God is currently "transforming our church to be used in transforming our world."

Chris Field, Minister

Chris was born in Houston, TX and raised in College Station. He graduated from Abilene Christian University in May of 2006 and is currently pursuing a Masters in Missional Leadership from Rochester College. He is an avid runner, has been married to his lovely wife for almost 5 years, and is thrilled about the daughter they have on the way. He is passionate about loving God and his neighbor, and his greatest desire is to help make the world a better place.

Our leadership is committed to praying, leading, and loving the congregation and our community. We take seriously the calling God has placed on our lives to journey with His people, and our greatest desire is to be shaped into the image of Jesus as we help others to do the same.

WHY ELDERS?

Shepherds

There are several names the Bible uses for leaders. Elder, overseer, shepherd. We like the image of a shepherd. A shepherd shares life with their sheep. They get down and dirty working with them, walking alongside of them, and making sure they have what they need. A shepherd exists for the sake of their sheep. And our leaders exist for the spiritual formation and guidance of our church.
